DC Mickey is caught in a web

Mickey’s old friend Mitch Ferrier has been knocked off his bike and killed and Mitch’s brother, drug dealer Jimmy, wants Mickey to investigate. Jimmy’s convinced Mitch’s death was no accident because Mitch had told him that for the past few weeks a car had followed him. Jimmy tells Mickey and Max that Mitch phoned him just before he was killed, saying the car was following him again.

Mickey and Max go to Mitch’s funeral, hoping to dig up some clues. One face among the mourners doesn’t fit: drug dealer Ryan Lacey. Jimmy insists Mitch didn’t know Ryan but then the detectives find a gun in Mitch’s café that is linked to Ryan. Mickey and Max convince Jimmy to meet Ryan and talk to him about Mitch. But Jimmy takes the cops into Ryan’s club with him, saying they’re his friends…

That’s when Max uses cocaine. Mickey’s furious, but Max says he had to have a snort with Ryan and Jimmy so that Ryan wouldn’t get suspicious. And Ryan does admit he gave Mitch the gun because Mitch was scared about being followed. But now Mickey has two problems: a partner who uses drugs and a mate who has been killed…
