Shots are fired in a custody dispute!
Thursday, 11 February 2010 21:00 ITV1
The specialist armed response police unit is called in when a custody dispute becomes a gun battle between a disturbed mother and the law… Sgt Callum Stone and Pc Leon Taylor are at the home of Alan Wilcox (Ivan Kaye – The Green Green Grass, EastEnders), where his ex-wife Carly (Jo McInnes) has taken their young son Matty hostage. The Sun Hill officers try to broker peace but admit defeat when a gun is fired from inside the house.
They call in the armed police but it’s DS Jo Masters who gets through to Carly, a desperate mother who lost custody of Matty and her older son, Adam, after being convicted of possessing cocaine. Jo discovers that Carly is sure Alan has been neglecting their sons and wants her kids back. Jo tries to reassure Carly that the police will help her but Carly’s not convinced. And no wonder…
Alan is an ex-policeman and Jo finds out that the cocaine Carly supposedly had actually belonged to him. She took the blame to protect Alan and he used her conviction as grounds for divorce and child custody. With a very different picture from the one painted by Alan, Jo persuades Carly to put down the gun and come out. But when Carly sees the armed officers she becomes hysterical and runs back inside – with the gun and Matty…
