The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency

The No 1 Ladies Detective Agency

*The No 1 Ladies' Detective Agency premieres on Sunday March 15 at 9pm on BBC1*

Millions of fans have already been enthralled by Alexander McCall Smith's bestselling books and last Easter the BBC finally adapted the stories for the small screen.

Now, American actress and Grammy Award-winning singer Jill Scott returns as Mma Ramotswe, Botswana's top lady detective, in a new six-part series, which was shot on location in Africa.

Mma Ramotswe is a 'traditionally built' woman who uses her sharp brain to fix her clients' varied list of problems, which can run from losing a dog to having a misplaced husband.

She's assisted in her crime-solving by her eccentric and very efficient secretary, Mma Makutsi, who hasn't got the relaxed air of her boss but is still a vital asset.

Providing a little possible love interest is Mma Ramotswe's dear friend mechanic JLB Matekoni, who often becomes part of the story and is a very decent kind of chap.

In each light-hearted episode, there will be fresh crimes for Mma Ramotswe to solve, while viewers can enjoy the easy humour, glorious scenery, and an upbeat soundtrack.

If you're looking for big car chases and spectacular explosions, then we suggest you try something else! Keep logging on for news and previews...
