Jack Ryder to star in The Royal Today
24/05/2007 - 12:12

Former EastEnders' star Jack Ryder has landed a role in the daytime hospital drama The Royal Today, it has been confirmed.
Jack, who quit his role as the soap's Jamie Mitchell in 2002, is due to start filming The Royal's modern day spin-off this summer.
Jack will play ambitious charge nurse, Adam Fearnley, who proves a real hit with the student nurses.
This will be Jack's first major TV role since leaving Eastenders. And he's thrilled to be back on our screens.
"Adam is a great character and so different from my previous roles," Jack said. "I loved the scripts as soon as I read them and I’m really excited about the show. I can't wait to start filming."
Popular TV and theatre actor Paul Nicholas has also been signed up to star in the drama. He will play meticulous consultant surgeon, Mr Woods.
Paul said: "I'm delighted to be playing a consultant surgeon in a brand new daytime drama. It's been a while since I've played a regular character and I can't wait to get started."
The Royal Today's executive producer, Keith Richardson, said: "We are thrilled to have two such fantastic actors on board to join The Royal Today.
"The opening episode ends with a murder in the hospital, so there will be plenty to get viewers gripped right from the very beginning."
The Royal Today is due to be shown on ITV later in the year.
