Nurse Marian is involved in a train crash
Sunday, 22 June 2008 20:00 ITV1

There's a staff shortage, and Lizzie and Ormerod are struggling to cope. Ken is away following the death in his family, Dr Mike Banner is in Australia tending to his sick father and Dr Jill Weatherill has just had a hysterectomy. Meanwhile, Nurse Marian is on the train back from Glasgow when there's a loud screeching noise and the train crashes.
While everyone at The Royal prepares for a flood of casualties, Dr Ormerod and Nurse Stella Davenport head to the crash site. Marian and fellow passenger Nick are both conscious and are trapped when they spot Colin, a vicar, groaning in pain. When Nick begins to treat Colin, Marian realises that he's a doctor.
Marian then finds honeymooners, Jacqui and Tony, and as Nick tries to treat Jacqui, the unstable wreckage shifts and diesel fumes fill the carriage. Marian, Nick, Jacqui and Tony are about to be rescued, when Ormerod notices that the engine is on fire. As they are all lifted to safety, Marian introduces Nick as The Royal's new locum, Dr Nick Burnett.
Back at the Royal, Carnegie and Mr Rose realise that Colin needs an emergency operation, as Marian rushes in and orders that an unconscious Jacqui be seen promptly. Worried about his new wife, Tony won't let anyone look at his own injuries until Jill realises that Tony has no feeling in his arm...
Can Jill save Tony's arm? And will Colin the vicar pull through?
