Who'll care for Moira's baby?
Sunday, 12 July 2009 19:00 ITV1

Moira's dead and her baby girl needs a home. Sister Brigid takes the baby, her niece, and embarks on a difficult journey back to Ireland for Moira's funeral. Travelling with her for support are doctors Gordon Ormerod and Jill Weatherill.
Gordon feels he could have done more to save Moira and, at the church service, his guilt is almost unbearable. Sister Brigid, though, is more concerned with the appearance of Sergeant O'Malley and Jill soon realises why: he's the baby's father – he's also a married man and his wife has no idea he has been unfaithful, but she's about to find out.
Back at The Royal, the staff are struggling to cope and Matron drafts in Mr Rose and Ashfordly anaesthetist Ralph Ellis. They attend a fire at a children's home and find 14-year-old Ruby with a broken arm. They want to take her to hospital but she's desperate not leave her little sister. Then, when Ruby goes missing, Ralph makes a shocking discovery...
In Ireland, Sister Brigid is struggling to work out what will be best for her niece. Her parents announce that they'll raise the baby but Jill discovers that won't be possible. Where does that leave Brigid? Will she leave the sisterhood to raise the child herself?
