Will Stella and Frankie survive?
Sunday, 14 December 2008 20:00 ITV1
Ormerod, Frankie, Stella and Marian have their work cut out when news comes that an amusement arcade has collapsed. The team battle to find those trapped in the wreckage, and as six-year-old Simon and his baby sister are rushed to hospital, Ormerod begins the search for their mum, Janet. Meanwhile, jackpot winner Iris is annoyed that she must leave her winnings to go to hospital.
As young Simon is prepared for theatre, doctors fear that he has a blood-clotting disorder but with Janet still missing, it's unknown if he has a condition. Back at the scene, two teenage girls are dragged out of the wreckage but they can't find their pal, Louise. When Louise's worried dad arrives and tries to enter the arcade, Stella goes in to look for Louise herself and finds her trapped.
Stella tries to get closer to Louise when one of the beams falls, leaving them both trapped. When Frankie hears Stella is trapped, he defies orders and heads into the arcade. Stella insists that he leave her to look for Louise, but when he finds Louise dead, he lies that she's OK. As the wreckage becomes more unstable, Stella tells Frankie to get out while he can, but he refuses and confesses he loves her.
As the fireman lift a beam to free Stella and Frankie, there's panic when a gas pipe splits. Meanwhile, Iris returns to collect her winnings, and when the firemen notice her lit cigarette and scream at her to get back, a startled Iris drops her cigarette causing a huge explosion.
