Celebs and fans react to Jonathan Ross leaving BBC

Jonathan Ross's decision to quit the BBC has sparked a frenzied reaction from fellow celebrities and fans of the broadcaster on Twitter.

Ross tweeted his 475,000 followers on Thursday morning: "Good morning. My day is turning out to be far more interesting then I had anticipated! See you later - have a good one."

Those who sent messages included Radio 1 breakfast DJ Chris Moyles who tweeted: "Sending wishes and kisses. PS can I have your parking space?"

Comedian and Peep Show star David Mitchell messaged Ross: "I'm extremely sorry to hear you are leaving."

Richard Bacon said: "Ross's show has already gone to Dom Littlewood. I hope Alesha Dixon gets his chat show."

Dragon's Den star Duncan Bannatyne asked: "How about Friday Night with Chris Evans?"

Former EastEnders actress Tracy-Ann Obermann sent a message to Ross saying: "Gutted! You will be missed x."

Fans of the star also sent messages, calling it the 'end of an era', while others pondered how much money it would save the BBC.

One Tweeter, Steph Parker, wrote: "Can't believe Wossy is quitting the BBC - I love watching Friday Night with Jonathan Ross."

Ross Tweeted in response to the messages: "Hello again. Thanks for all the kind words about my decision. I feel sad that I can't keep making the shows so many of you love! Don't worry, I won't stop Tweeting!"
