Fern's working on novel about TV fame and jealousy
09/10/2009 - 10:13

Fern Britton has revealed she is starting work on her first novel – a story about fame and jealousy based on her experiences in the TV industry.
The main character will be Christie Lynch, a journalist and single mother, who gets her dream job in TV but discovers the dark side of the industry.
Publishes Harper Collins explained that Christie finds that 'friends can be enemies and jealousies can be deadly'. Fern, who was a presenter on ITV’s This Morning for 10 years, left the show in July to work on new projects.
She said: "I am so excited to be working with Harper Collins on my novel. This story comes from my 30 years experience in television.
"Are the characters based on people I have worked with - have any of the storylines actually happened? Or have I made it all up ...? Readers will have to read the novel to decide."
Her first novel will be out by March 2011 with a second also in the pipeline.
