Horne 'exhilarated' at Gavin and Stacey final
31/12/2009 - 13:34

Gavin and Stacey star Matthew Horne has confessed that he did not shed any tears over the end of the hit show.
The 31-year-old - who stars as Gavin in the hit BBC sitcom, written by his co-stars James Corden and Ruth Jones - said some of the cast became emotional at the end of filming the final episode, which will be screened on New Year's Day.
However Horne told The Mirror: "I didn't feel sad about finishing filming, some people found it emotional but I didn't - maybe I'm cold-hearted but I just felt we were doing something very positive."
"I felt exhilarated. We knew that was the end and we were tying everything neatly up rather than lingering and possibly doing something disappointing next time round.
"I've got a couple of souvenirs though," he added. "The costume designer made the T-shirt Gavin wore for his stag do into a cushion for me. It's hideous."
And he did not rule out the possibility of the cast returning for special episodes in the future - but admitted it was unlikely.
"Realistically I think it would be very difficult to get an ensemble cast of eight of that calibre back together now or at any time in the future," Horne said.
