Marge Simpson poses for Playboy!

Simpsons favourite Marge has become the first cartoon character ever to pose for the front cover of Playboy Magazine.

The issue of the long-running publication, which is due out on October 16, is celebrating the 20th anniversary of the hit cartoon show.

And it will also feature an interview with Marge as well as a centrefold.

The magazine's editorial director James Jellinek is remaining tight-lipped about how much readers will see of the blue-haired mum of three - but hinted that the content was "very very racy".

"She is a stunning example of the cartoon form," he added.

The issue is designed to try and attract a younger audience to Playboy, whose circulation has dropped from 3.15m to 2.6m since 2006.

"We knew that this would really appeal to the twentysomething crowd," a spokeswoman said.
