Paul O'Grady signs new C4 chat show deal

Chat show host Paul O'Grady has signed a deal to carry on making a teatime talk show for Channel 4 - despite having signed a new deal with ITV.

According to The Sun the star - who bowed out of C4's The Paul O'Grady Show last week - has convinced the channel to make a new talk show in the summer with his company Olga Productions.

The paper reports that the programme will be called The 5 O'Clock Show, and will use celebrity guest hosts, while O'Grady may "pop back from time to time".

"I'm so pleased we will be able to continue our great relationship with Olga through this new show," said Helen Warner, head of daytime TV on Channel 4.

"It'll be similar in format to the Paul O'Grady Show, so viewers will still get their hit of top guests and entertainment. Having a different celebrity host each week will keep the show fresh."

Dawn French, Peter Andre, Fern Britton and Michael Buble are among those who have been tipped to present.

O'Grady will be fronting a new chat show on ITV in 2010.
