Coronation Street star Ian Puleston-Davies is to join the cast of BBC1 drama Waterloo Road later this year.
The Welsh actor - who revealed he has no plans to leave the role of businessman Owen Armstrong in the soap - will play the cheating husband of new head teacher Karen Davies (Amanda Burton).
Amanda, meanwhile, will replace Eva Pope's character Rachel Mason when the show returns for a sixth series in the autumn.
The BBC has revealed other newcomers to the show, including a "sexy, opinionated" Spanish teacher played by Karen David and home school advocate Marcus (Wil Johnson).
Returning characters will include Philip Martin-Brown (Grantly), Jason Dome (Tom), Elizabeth Berrington (Ruby) and Will Ash (Chris), while Chelsee Healey will also return as former pupil turned school secretary Janeece.
Robson Green and Mark Benton are among those who will be joining the seventh series of the show next year.
