Dawn Steele: 'I can hold my own against Amanda'

Wild At Heart actress Dawn Steele said she didn't feel worried about replacing Amanda Holden.

The actress, famous playing Lexie in Monarch of the Glen, is vet Alice Collins in the family drama.

Asked if she felt nervous, Dawn told The Kirkintilloch Herald: "I didn't really. It's the same crew that have been there the past three years, which is a bit daunting. But no one made me feel like I was replacing her, they were just really welcoming."

The 33-year-old actress replaced Amanda Holden as the love interest for vet Danny Trevanion, played by Stephen Tompkinson.

"Amanda was such a big character and everyone loved her but, you know, I can hold my own, I'm all right."

Now in its second series, the ITV1 drama has won over new fans.

According to the Daily Express supermodel Kate Moss is said to be so gripped by Wild At Heart that she never misses an episode and is planning a trip to South Africa with her six-year-old daughter Lila and boyfriend Jamie Hince.

A source close to the model said: "Kate wants to see wildebeest and lions in particular. She chose South Africa over Kenya because that's where Wild At Heart is filmed."
