Filming starts on new series of ITV1's DCI Banks
28/03/2011 - 12:01

ITV1 has announced the start of filming of a first full series of crime drama DCI Banks, starring Stephen Tompkinson.
Â
The six hour-long episodes will be filmed on location in Leeds following the success of the two-part special which screened last year.
Â
Wild at Heart star Stephen and Andrea Lowe return as stubborn detective Chief Inspector Alan Banks and the feisty DS Annie Cabbott in stories adapted from the best-selling novels of Peter Robinson. Â
Â
ITV's Controller of Drama Commissioning Sally Haynes said: "DCI Banks launched really strongly and already feels like a great new addition to our roster of crime dramas. We're looking forward to bringing a full series to ITV1 later this year."
Joining the two stars in DCI Banks will be Lorraine Burroughs, Jack Dream, Tom Shaw and Colin Tierney.
No word yet on when DCI Banks will screen.
