Actress Liz May Brice has said she’d love a longer run in EastEnders after her upcoming guest appearance.
The Bad Girls star will appear in the BBC soap next week when she takes a shine to Billy Mitchell (Perry Fenwick), but told Inside Soap she’d like to come back as a more regular character.
Liz plays Tara, who is impressed by Billy flashing the cash after a win on the horses. But when she realises he is usually poor she leaves Albert Square.
She said: “Tara’s really disappointed that Billy turns out to have pretended to be rich. But when she makes an excuse about having to leave, Billy is so brilliant and sweet about it that I think Tara does wonder if she’s let a good guy slip through her fingers!
“I was so thrilled to come into the show, because there’s probably nothing bigger than EastEnders – it’s always been the one I’ve wanted to do. Who knows what will happen with Tara if the audience like her? I’d certainly be delighted to come back.”
If Tara does make a return, Liz already has her sights set on another Mitchell for her character.
“Tara needs to get her facts straight and go for the rich Mitchell!” she said. “I was joking about that with Steve [McFadden, who plays Phil] when we caught up.
“We did a show together years ago, so it’d be hilarious if Tara and Phil got together. But Perry Fenwick was fantastic. He’s such a good actor – it was a joy.”
