EastEnders bosses have denied reports that popular character Bradley Branning is to commit suicide.
The Sun claimed that the redhead, played by Charlie Clements, will throw himself off a building when he becomes a suspect in the investigation into the murder of Archie Mitchell (Larry Lamb).
But a spokeswoman for the BBC1 soap said: “We will not comment on Bradley’s exit storyline other than to say he does not commit suicide.”
In November, Charlie announced his decision to leave the BBC One soap after four years playing Bradley.
EastEnders executive producer Diederick Santer said at the time: “Viewers will miss Charlie hugely and I can promise a big exit. I know he’ll go on to great things.”
Soap bosses said Bradley’s exit would form part of the show’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
