Tom Hardy would be welcomed into Walford, especially by Rita Simons.
The actress, who plays Roxy Mitchell in the BBC soap, would love the Inception star to make a guest appearance in EastEnders.
“Tom Hardy, he’s gorgeous, he can be my leading man any day,” she told Reveal.
“I especially liked his character Freddie in The Take. He’s a bit of rough, and that’s what I like about him. I don’t like them too neat.”
Rita does get some eye candy in the form of Scott Maslen (Jack Branning) and Steve John Shepherd (Michael Moon), but quipped: “Scott is like my big brother and I cannot look at him like that. In fact, thinking about it makes me want to vomit.
“He did look gorgeous on Strictly Come Dancing though. I do get to kiss Steve John Shepherd, which is nice,” she added.
The 34-year-old actress would love more gritty storylines for Roxy, who has married bad boy Sean Slater, had a baby with her sister’s on-off boyfriend Jack and ran Pat Butcher over.
“I’d like to see her experience some actual trauma of her own, instead of her sister’s. It’s nice as an actress to get your teeth into something,” she said.
“I’ve had a lot of good storylines but recently they’re revolved around Ronnie (Samantha Womack) so, now she’s gone, I’m looking forward to Roxy having a load of problems! I don’t want happy endings.”
