EastEnders viewers were in for a shock when one of Albert Square’s most hated figures, made an unexpected returned to Walford earlier tonight.
There were dropped-jaws all round when James Willmott Brown, last seen making a brief return in 1992, was revealed to be the father of Max Branning’s scheming girlfriend, Fi Brown.
Earlier on Max was seen collecting his old cellmate, Luke, from prison to take him home where his sister Fi, half-brother Josh and his Uncle Hugo were waiting for him, but the huge reveal came when Fi also introduced her father to Max and he turned out to be none other than Willmott-Brown, who loyal viewers will remember brutally raped Ian’s mum, Kathy Beale back in the 80s.
We all know what a nasty piece of work scheming scum-bag he is, but it seems Max is totally oblivious to the former army-officer’s, tangled and chequered history in Albert Square.
Our EastEnders insider says, “Max has no idea of Willmott-Brown’s history or connections to Walford, only that he claims, like Max, to be a wronged man.”
Just like Max, posh Willmott Brown, (played by original actor William Boyde pictured above), is on a mission to slowly take over Albert Square. But he also has a personal vendetta against Kathy who he believed ruined his life when he was found guilty of her rape and sentenced to a three year stint behind bars.
A spokesperson for EastEnders says, “A story of power, control, money and revenge will unfold as he and his family attempt to destroy everything and anyone in their way. What remains to be seen is how much each of those involved knows, and how far each will go.”
One thing is certain, with Willmot Brown’s return there is going to be plenty of juicy drama rocking Walford in the very near future.
