Emmerdale star Sophie Powles has admitted she hasn’t given much thought to her exit from the show – but hopes that it will be a dramatic one.
The 23-year-old, who plays factory worker Holly Barton in the soap, is set to leave this summer after three years on screen, and told Inside Soap magazine that she would love to go out with a bang.
“I haven’t thought too much about my exit story because I’ve been working so hard. But I hope the producers have something really exciting lined up for me,” she said.
Holly is set to cause more drama in the Dales before her departure after she suffers a heroin overdose while continuing to grieve for her father John (James Thornton), only to be saved by Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley).
However the actress admitted that while she would love a dramatic departure she hoped there would be no more tragedies in Holly’s life.
“Holly has already seen how badly her drug addiction has affected her family, and I think that will put her off,” Sophie said.
“They said ‘once an addict, always an addict’ – but Holly wanted her dad to be proud of her more than anything.”
