Who’d be a vicar in 2018? Church attendances are falling, congregations are ageing and proving that you’re still relevant is an uphill struggle.

This six-part series heads to Hereford, the most rural of the Church of England’s dioceses, to meet the vicars trying to make a difference in a largely indifferent world.

There’s Matthew Stafford, for instance, a keen collector of ‘religious tat’ who’s proud of his Cheesus Christ cheese grater, and whose wacky sense of humour is just one of the tools he’s using to stay connected to the modern world.

But are engaged couple Mel and Stu ready for what Matthew has planned for their wedding?
