The late Robin Williams’ final screen performance sees him playing a painfully inhibited bank worker.

It’s a marked change from his usual extrovert, larger-than-life characters, but he is very good. In a passionless marriage, Williams’ Nolan finally faces up to his sexuality when he becomes chastely infatuated with a young street hustler (Roberto Aguire).

Too much of Nolan’s worthy dullness rubs off on the film itself, but it’s well worth watching for Williams and Kathy Baker, as his conflict-avoiding wife.
