This week marks the halfway point of Tony Robinson’s walk across the north of England.

The presenter is in the Yorkshire Dales to learn more about the region’s farming heritage, its wildlife and beauty spots.

His first stop is Hawes, home to Wensleydale cheese, where he meets the employees who saved their creamery from closure 20 years ago.

A visit to the Swaledale village of Muker follows – to join the local brass band in rehearsal –before heading north to moorlands covered with heather to meet a pair of progressive beekeepers.

Finally, he visits Kiplin Hall with its newly restored Jacobean gardens.
