The BBC team report live from Australia’s Gold Coast for the 21st staging of the Games.

Hazel Irvine is at the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia for the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Games (10.30am).

Day one events include the triathlons; look out for Yorkshire champion Alistair Brownlee and his brother Jonny.

At the Opus Aquatic Centre, Scotland swimmer Hannah Miley will be hoping for a third gold in the 400m individual medley final, while England’s Adam Peaty and Scotland’s Ross Murdoch will also be defending the titles they won four years ago in Glasgow.
