Julia Roberts grabs hold of one of her best roles as the sassy real-life heroine of the title who triumphs over apparently insurmountable odds.

Divorced, broke and with three kids, she wangles a job with Albert Finney’s law firm. Soon she finds medical files that lead her to investigate a cover-up involving contaminated water and determinedly roots out the truth.

Roberts is at her most appealing as the eager-beaver girl scout and Finney is every bit as good in this spirited, intelligent and often very funny drama that keeps you on the edge of your seat as she powers her way through the opposition to go for the largest direct-action lawsuit in US history.
