On the surface, life couldn’t be better for Manhattan therapist Jean (Naomi Watts).

With a good career, a rich husband (Billy Crudup), and an adorable daughter, Jean appears to be living the American dream – but she’s bored.

In a bid to spice up her life, Jean starts taking an interest in her patients’ complex lives, and is soon obsessively engineering a relationship with singer Sidney (Sophie Cookson), a patient’s ex.

Directed by 50 Shades of Grey’s Sam Taylor-Johnson, the series follows Jean as she strays ever further into dangerous territory – professionally and personally.

What will the consequences be?
