Tobi wants to find out what happened to Kiri, but is he hiding something?

The four-part drama from the pen of Bafta-winning writer Jack Thorne (National Treasure) is difficult viewing, but it’s certainly powerful stuff.

In this second episode, Kiri’s grandfather Tobi (Lucian Msamati, Taboo), finds himself in the spotlight as he hunts for his fugitive son Nate (Paapa Essiedu, recently seen in The Miniaturist) in the hope of getting some answers about what really happened to the little girl.

Meanwhile, veteran social worker Miriam (a typically excellent Sarah Lancashire) finds herself scapegoated for the tragedy, and there are hints that something is not quite right in the home of Kiri’s foster parents (Lia Williams and Steven Mackintosh).
