Seth Rogen’s slacker and Katherine Heigl’s ambitious TV presenter have a one-night stand – then she discovers that she’s pregnant. Can casual sex lead to true love and can a raunchy slacker comedy lead to a sweet romcom with a happy ending?
There are laughs galore finding out in this endearing film, as the two strangers get to know each other while warming to the idea of becoming parents. Writer-director Judd Apatow does a wonderful job of mixing gross-out gags with the quirky romcom side of the movie.
The stars make the most of the script and Leslie Mann (the director’s real-life wife) and Paul Rudd are a hoot in an equally well-done subplot as Heigl’s stressed sister and brother-in-law.
