MasterChef’s John Torode is on a foodie exploration of South Korea to sample its cuisine in this new series.

John begins in Seoul, where he learns how to cope in a heatwave. A steaming bowl of chicken soup may sound like the last thing you’d want when it’s hot, but samgyetang is surprisingly cooling.

Also on tonight’s menu: chilled noodles with beef and pear (!) and bingsu, a cold dessert made from beans.
