Mary begins in Scotland, where her mother was born, a country that brings back many wonderful food memories for her.

Scotland provides a beautiful backdrop as Mary eats freshly caught langoustines on the beach at Ullapool, barbecues venison with chef Tom Kitchin and prepares a boozy Scotch whisky cream by a loch as the clouds come down.

Back home in her kitchen, there are recipes for crispy bacon rosti with fried eggs, venison cottage pie and yuzu salmon.
