To celebrate 70 years of the NHS, this five-part daytime series, showing across the week, sees five celebrities trace its history and share personal accounts of how the service has impacted their lives. In today’s programme Homes Under the Hammer’s Lucy Alexander revisits the medics who saved her daughter Kitty’s life in 2010 when, aged seven, Kitty was struck by a rare neurological disease which left her paralysed. Lucy meets people who remember the NHS’s early years, including Hugh, who, because of his disability, was a regular on the children’s wards. Tomorrow’s edition features Myleene Klass, with Oritsé Williams on Wednesday, Miriam Margolyes on Thursday and Eric Knowles on Friday.
