For several years, RIBA’s House of the Year has proved popular on C4, so it makes sense for the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’s equivalent, Restoration of the Year, to get a series, too.

Kevin McCloud is once again our knowledgeable guide to this year’s shortlist, and is joined by Dr Anna Keay, historian and Director of The Landmark Trust, for a tour of some of the most spectacular restoration projects that took place around the country in the past year.

Tonight’s first episode features an 18th-century watermill in Cambridgeshire, a seaside villa in Lyme Regis, a Georgian house in Northumberland and rescued castle in Ceredigion.
