Widower Michael Vartan’s in for some creepy goings-on after moving house.

Vartan, his second wife (Nadine Velazquez) and teenage daughter (Erin Moriarty) are beset by strange happenings after they move into a suburban house with a dark past.

Also known as Crawlspace, this horror thriller by director Phil Claydon, maker of 2009’s jokey Lesbian Vampire Killers, borrows liberally from the haunted-house and home-invasion genres and manages to deliver a fair few jump scares.

However, the plot holes become more and more gaping – and annoying – as the film goes on.
