James Sutton is reportedly leaving Hollyoaks 10 years after making his debut as John Paul McQueen
Hollyoaks star James Sutton is reported to be leaving the Channel 4 soap for the second time.
James has played John Paul McQueen off and on since 2006, but The Sun claims he is leaving in a dramatic exit by driving off a cliff.
Much of John Paul’s drama has centred around the dysfunctional McQueen family and his chaotic love life, especially his volatile relationship with his ex Ste Hay (Kieron Richardson).
A Hollyoaks insider told The Sun that show procuers ‘aren’t necessarily saying his exit is for good’.
They said: “James is a soap legend and will be sorely missed by Hollyoaks cast, crew and viewers.
“Producers have given him a huge, dramatic exit – so it’s going to be the perfect way to see off almost a decade of John Paul on our screens.
“Show chiefs aren’t necessarily saying his exit is for good and they are leaving the door open.”
James, 33, made his Hollyoaks debut in 2006, then left in 2008. He was cast as Ryan Lamb in Emmerdale in 2009, a role he played for just under two years. He return to the role of John Paul in 2012.
