Remember Chardonnay and Kyle Pascoe in Footballers’ Wives? Well, the actors who played them, Susie Amy and Gary Lucy, are back together again in Hollyoaks

Hollyoaks have announced that Susie Amy has been cast as Scarlett, the estranged wife of Luke Morgan. The show’s bosses revealed back in October that the actress would be joining the C4 soap, but didn’t reveal at the time who she would be playing.

It will be the second time that Susie and actor Gary Lucy have played a couple – the duo famously starred as the glamorous Chardonnay and Kyle Pascoe in Footballers’ Wives, back in the noughties.

Bosses are also bringing in Luke’s teenage son, Oliver, who will be played by Aedan Duckworth – who has previously had a minor role in Sky drama series, The Five.

Scarlett disappeared with Oliver over eight years ago, when she was unable to cope with Luke’s drinking. He has since reunited with old-flame, Mandy Richardson, and they’ve moved back to Hollyoaks village (check out the latest Hollyoaks spoilers).

Mandy is unaware of Scarlett and Oliver’s existence and only Darren Osborne knows the truth about his friend’s double life. With a Luke / Mandy engagement on the horizon, can Luke get a divorce from Scarlett before he becomes a bigamist?

Both Susie and Aedan will be on screens from January.
