Home and Away has cast young Australian actress Raechelle Banno will play new feisty teen Olivia Fraser Richards in the Channel 5 soap.

Raechelle said: “I feel so fortunate that my start at working full-time in the industry is through being cast in something as respected as Home and Away. I have the privilege of being made to feel so welcome, while being trusted with the responsibility of bringing this great character to life.”

Racehlle said Olivia ‘may seem like just a flirty wild-child to watch out for, but she has wisdom far beyond her years that stems from scars of a damaged past. All she wants in life is to be wanted, loved and cared for, and coming to Summer Bay might just make that happen.”

The actress was determined to have a theatrical career, having modelled and appeared in TV commercials for brands like McDonalds, Vodafone and Ford Focus, since she was seven. Born and raised in Sydney’s western suburbs, she took a break during high school to explore theatre acting and focus on her HSC. After graduating, Raechelle was determined to further develop her craft and went on to complete short courses at the National Institute of Dramatic Art and 75% Old School in Sydney.

Outside of acting, Raechelle has more than 10 years’ experience as a dancer, studying with the Australian Royal Academy of Dance. She also enjoys writing and completed her first feature film script before she scored the role of Olivia. Raechelle currently resides in Sydney’s south.

She will make her Home and Away debut later in October.
