Former Coronation Street actress Helen Flanagan has reportedly signed up for the next series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
According to The Sun the 22-year-old – who quit her role as Rosie Webster in the soap earlier this year – is one of the first stars to be linked to this year’s show, which will begin in November.
And show sources have said they are thrilled to have the actress on board.
“Helen was one of our top picks – gorgeous, funny and she will be a real hit with viewers,” an insider told Mail Online.
Helen had said she planned to ‘pursue other projects’ when she quit Coronation Street – which also coincided with her moving closer to her boyfriend, Swansea City’s Scott Sinclair.
The pair have since returned to the North following Sinclair’s transfer to Manchester City – but sources have said Helen’s acting gigs had been thin on the ground since leaving Corrie.
The work she expected to roll in since February simply hasn’t and she’s worried the ambitions she had might now be wrecked.
“Helen decided to leave Corrie because she had had enough and wanted to move on,” a source told The Sun. “Even if Scott wasn’t on the scene, she would still have left – it had got to that point.”
If Helen does enter the jungle, she could be joined by former co-star Ryan Thomas, who is also tipped to be taking part, along with model Georgia Salpa and former MP Louise Mensch. The full line-up will be confirmed later this autumn.
Last year’s series was won by McFly’s Dougie Poynter, with reality star Mark Wright finishing second.
