Helen Flanagan finally overcame her Bushtucker Trial fears on Sunday’s I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here after being chosen to do her sixth trial in a row – only to be promptly voted to do her seventh trial live on air.

The former Coronation Street actress – who had returned from all her previous trials empty-handed – came up trumps with a challenge which saw her negotiating stars round a maze while her head was encased in various boxes full of jungle critters.

And amazingly she managed to secure all 12 stars – winnning 12 meals for her campmates.

“This is ridiculous, I’m just so happy,” she told Ant and Dec afterwards.

“Honestly, I’ve never been so happy. I’m just really really thrilled I was able to get that. It’s so stupid.”

“I can’t tell you how scared I was and I just feel really proud of myself.”

But while her campmates were thrilled with her performance, the public appeared less impressed, voting her to do yet another trial – this one live on Sunday night’s show.

The challenge, called Bad Day At The Office, saw her complete a series of work-themed tasks, each with an unpleasant twist.

And while the actress coped with some of the challenges – which included retrieving items from a vending machine full of pythons, typing her name on a computer covered in green ants, drinking a cup of ‘bug tea’ and eating a whole stick insect, she refused one part which involved her retrieving stars by putting her head into a photocopier full of cockroaches.

Helen also failed to catch any stars descending from an elevator, where she was covered in slime and insects.

She eventually won five stars, resulting in five meals for her and her fellow contestants.
