ITV has confirmed the 10 contestants for I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! and press speculation was almost right, with the likes of Marc Bannerman and Malcolm McLaren taking part.

The other contestants for the seventh series are:

Anna Ryder Richardson, TV presenter, 43
Rodney Marsh, ex footballer, 63
Lynne Franks, PR guru, 59
Janice Dickinson, ex model, Age: ‘None of your business!’
John Burton Race, chef, 50
‘J’ Brown, former pop singer, 31
Cerys Matthews, singer, 38
Gemma Atkinson, actress, 22

I’m a Celebrity executive producer Richard Cowles said the celebrities had no idea what they’re in for.

“The challenge is above and beyond anything faced by their predecessors,” he said. “This year’s trials are the most terrifying yet and the surprises will come thick and fast and from the moment their journey begins.”

Marc Bannerman, who played Gianni di Marco in EastEnders, said he was up for the challenge. “I’ve been practising on the cat… the cat’s got no b***s left because I’ve been chewing on them for the last three days to practice!”

What a charmer!

Soap babe Gemma Atkinson has a unique fear – what she gets up to at night!

“I’m worried about sleeping on camera – I sleepwalk and talk and I’m a big snorer. So that might be embarrassing. My whole family are bad snorers…”

But the celebrities should be most afraid of TV chef John Burton Race.

“If I get desperate for protein and real food I’ll just kill one of the celebrities, chop them up and eat them!”

I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! premieres on Monday at 9pm on ITV1.
