These are the celebrities entering the jungle in the latest series of I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!

Michael Buerk, 68
Relationship status: Married
Job: Broadcaster
Phobias: He won’t reveal them

The former newsreader and war reporter said that he is ‘sniffy’ about reality TV but that his decision to join the show means that he might be having a ‘late midlife crisis’.

Buerk, whose reporting of the Ethiopian famine in 1984 inspired the original Band Aid Charity record, said: “I’m a frightful snob and perhaps it’s time for me to take myself less seriously.”

Jimmy Bullard, 36
Relationship status: Engaged
Job: Retired football player
Phobias: Snakes, spiders and ‘all the animals you find in there’.

The former Wigan player said that he is a prankster and that he will not mope around.

Bullard – who had deductions on his wage slip for the amount of fire extinguishers he let off – said that he wanted to go to the jungle because he is not doing very much.

“There are two sides to me. One goes ‘you have to go in the jungle Jim, don’t let this opportunity go’. The other goes ‘why the hell are you doing it?!'”

Craig Charles, 50
Relationship Status: Married
Job: Coronation Street actor
Phobias: None

Charles, best known for his long-running role as Corrie taxi driver Lloyd Mullaney, worries that he will not know who some of his campmates are.
“My only concern is I don’t watch much TV. I don’t watch things like Made In Chelsea,” he said.

The father-of-two said that he will speak his mind ‘as otherwise it festers, grows and blows up’.

Carl Fogarty, 49
Relationship status: Married
Job: Former World Superbike champion
Phobias: Heights

Fogarty, who retired in 2000 because of injuries, admitted he is ‘not a people’s person’.

“I like my own company and I like my own space”, he said. The former champion said that his wife is worried about him going into the jungle.

“She feels I’m A Celebrity might change me when I come out. I am sure it won’t,” he said.

Tinchy Stryder, 28
Relationship status: Dating
Job: Rapper
Phobias: “I don’t want to say anything to jinx myself.”

One of the things Stryder will miss most is his beloved footwear. “I like playing cards, table tennis and I love my trainers too. There are so many things that I am going to miss,” he said.

And he added: “I’ve never been camping before in my life. Even when I go to carnivals or festivals, I don’t sleep in a tent. I even put plastic bags on my trainers so they don’t get muddy!”

Kendra Wilkinson, 29
Relationship status: Married
Job: Reality TV star
Phobias: Bugs, snakes and falling

The US model, who is a former girlfriend of Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, has no idea what is in store for her in the jungle because she has never seen the show.

She is a veteran of several American reality shows but with mixed results, saying: “I quit Splash! because I couldn’t dive off a 3-metre board.”

Gemma Collins, 33
Relationship status: Single
Job: Reality TV star
Phobias: Claustrophobia and creepy-crawlies

The Only Way Is Essex star is so nervous about going into the jungle that she has been in floods of tears all week.

She said that she hopes to lose weight but at the same time is ‘dreading’ being hungry, saying: “I thought they would give you a can of Diet Coke or a mini Mars bar to keep the sugar up but they don’t.”

Nadia Forde, 25
Relationship status: Single
Job: Singer and model
Phobias: Insects, heights and the dark

The Irish star has promised to pack plenty of bikinis for the jungle and said the thing she will most of all is her phone.

She said: “I am away a lot and being on the phone is so important. I really do trust my friends’ opinion. Now I’ve got the realisation that I am not going to be able to do this.”

Vicki Michelle, 63
Relationship status: Married
Job: Actress
Phobias: Snakes and spiders

The ‘Allo ‘Allo! actress said that she is looking forward to basic rations because it means she will be ‘getting paid to lose weight’.

Her appearance in Australia means she will not be appearing in pantomime this year – the first time in 25 years – and she said: “It will be weird not doing it but I am really looking forward to spending Christmas with my family.”

Melanie Sykes, 44
Relationship status: Single
Job: TV presenter
Phobias: Heights and claustrophobia

The mum-of-two, who shot to fame after appearing in an advert for Boddington’s Beer, admitted she will miss her children when she is in the jungle but vowed not to be ‘the mummy in the camp’.

Sykes, who was arrested and cautioned over an assault on her husband and split from him after six months of marriage in December last year, said: “I can cook but I haven’t thought about what kind of role I will have in the camp. It will be a case of people establishing themselves once they get there.”

I’m a Celebrity premieres on ITV on Sunday, November 16. The initial 10 celebrities will be joined by more stars as the series progresses.
