Larky horror comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse shows a trio of nerdy boy scouts putting their much mocked skills to use during a zombie outbreak.

Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse Sarah Dumont Tye Sheridan

The knowingly tongue-in-cheek title is a tip off: horror comedy Scouts Guide to the Zombie Apocalypse is going to deliver larky irreverence as well as gory splatter. Director Christopher Landon’s movie mostly succeeds, although there are times when this tale of three teenage misfits (Tye Sheridan, Logan Miller and Joey Morgan) who put their disdained scouting skills to good use during a zombie plague does rather overdo the gross-out gags. Like its horny adolescent heroes, it also spends a little too much time ogling naked zombie flesh. But if you don’t mind the puerility you will find the laughs and scares coming thick and fast.
