Ex-Neighbours star Ashleigh Brewer has landed a new role in Home and Away.

Ashleigh Brewer is doing a soap switch and moving from Neighbours to Home and Away

Ex-Neighbours star Ashleigh Brewer, who played Kate Ramsay from 2009 to 2014, is swapping Ramsay Street for Summer Bay and joining the cast of Home and Away.

Ashleigh is playing a police officer, Chelsea Campbell, who will arrive in Summer Bay later this year, much to the surprise of her ex-boyfriend, Colby Thorne!

“Chelsea is an extremely nice person with a strong head on her shoulders,” Ashleigh tells Digital Spy in an interview. “But she’ll be causing a little bit of trouble through circumstances out of her control.”

Ashleigh’s new role has seen her return home to Australia after four years living in LA, while she played the role of Australian fashion designer Ivy Forrester on the long-running American daytime soap, The Bold And The Beautiful.

Ashleigh took career advice from her friend and former Neighbours co-star, Margot Robbie before quitting the Bold And The Beautiful. Margot, who played Ramsay Street resident Donna Freedman between 2008 to 2011 has recently been both Academy Award and Golden Globe nominated for her role in the film, I, Tonya, in which she plays disgraced American ice skater, Tonya Harding.

“It’s definitely time for me and I’ve had Margot encouraging me for so long (saying) just leave it and see what happens,” Ashleigh said ahead of her audition for Home and Away. “So I’m throwing caution to the wind now and keeping myself open to opportunities.”

Home and Away continues weekdays on Channel 5 at 1:15pm and 6:00pm
