Neighbours actor Ian Smith has reminisced about remarkable list of global stars the Aussie soap has produced.
Guy Pearce, Russell Crowe, Kylie Minogue, Holly Valance… The actor who’s played Harold Bishop since 1985 has seen them all come and go on to find global fame.
He told whatsontv.co.uk that he always knew they were talented, but in the case of Guy Pearce he didn’t pick that he’d go on to find the sort of Hollywood fame he has.
But it’s the success of his veteran former co-star Alan Dale – who played Jim Robinson and has found fame in 24, Ugly Betty and The OC – who seems to have amused him most.
“Yes, everyone seems to want to make him have a heart attack… The world’s trying to sell you something, Al,” he quipped.
Neighbours has transferred to Five and screens each weekday evening at 5.30pm.
