Britain's Got Talent: it's the final!

The final of Britain's Got Talent has taken place, with six acts competing for a £100,000 prize and the chance to appear at this year's Royal Variety Performance.

The six made it through from the semi-finals, held earlier this week, which featured 24 acts.

Half of those who took part were voted into the final by the public. The remainder were put through by the judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan.

Kicking off the final were dance troupe Kombat Breakers. The group impressed the judges with their routine, to Run DMC's It's Like That, with Piers Morgan suggesting they had improved their chances of winning with their performance.

They were followed by puppeteer Damon Scott, who was voted into the final by the judges despite receiving a mixed response to his semi-final performance. He reprised the routine from his audition, in which he made a monkey puppet 'dance' to Michael Jackson songs.

Next on stage was 12-year-old Bessie Cursons, who impressed the judges and the public with her renditions of songs from classic musicals. For the final she dressed up as a man to perform Get Me To The Church On Time, from My Fair Lady.

The Barwizards were next, with their act which features juggling bottles and mixing cocktails to music. Performing to Queen's Don't Stop Me Now, they ended the routine by pouring several drinks in one go.

Then it was the turn of the contest favourite, Connie Talbot. The gap-toothed six-year-old sang Somewhere Over The Rainbow, which she performed in the original auditions, and received a rapturous reception from both audience and judges. "You made me cry again," Amanda Holden told her.

The final act on stage was mobile phone salesman Paul Potts, whose opera singing talents won the public vote in the first semi-final. Potts once again sang his audition song, Nessun Dorma.

The winner will be announced later on Sunday evening.
