Georgia Taylor rules out Weatherfield return

Former Coronation Street star Georgia Taylor has denied she is planning a return to Weatherfield.

The actress - who played Toyah Battersby -says that, despite the rumours, a return is unlikely.

"I've no plans," she says. "I loved my time there and have nothing but affection for that show, but I'm happy doing other things."

Georgia is now set to star in Casualty where she'll be playing a junior doctor called Ruth Winters.

"She's very methodical, not a lot of fun," reveals Georgia of her on-screen alter ego.

"She's a troubled soul. Hopefully, we'll find out why she is the way that she is. She just really wants to do a good job and is an absolute perfectionist and very self-critical.

"She's not one of those doctors who would have a chat about the weather and hold your hand," she continues.

"It's not that she's nasty. She's not equipped with those skills. She's a bookworm and a thinker."

Georgia joins Casualty on BBC One from September 8.
