Hell's Kitchen: Jim's not quitting
09/09/2007 - 10:35

Jim Davidson has decided to stay on in Hell's Kitchen, despite announcing his intentions to leave on Friday.
The comic threatened to quit following a bustup with Brian on Thursday night - and only changed his mind following a pep talk from Marco Pierre White.
"I could stay in this kitchen with most of the people here forever," he told the group, "I enjoy the work but I didn't realise it was going to be this intense. I feel it’s only going to be a moment until I say something I am going to regret which is not acceptable in the PC world, so I think it’s best that I leave."
"I’d like to thank you Marco for this small trip, and my loyalty to you goes without saying," he added. "I wish everyone good luck for the rest of it, I hope you all do well and I hope you take from this TV show being a better cook and some of Marco’s passion."
"But if that’s not what you’re here for, I hope it gives you the expected lift up the celebrity ladder."
Marco swiftly set about trying to change Jim's mind after saying he would be a "great loss" to the group.
And the other chefs were less than pleased with Jim's attitude. "I don't think this is the right place for Jim to be," Adele said after he had made his "farewell" speech.
And Abbey said that the comedian was "a bit of a divvy" for putting on his suit in preparation to leave.
Barry, meanwhile, made his true feelings known once Jim had decided he was going to stay.
"The bottom line is, he said he needs this because his career is over," the former boxer mused in the confessional. "Why would he not do it?"
Had he gone, Jim would have been the third celebrity chef to leave the kitchen. Former Blue star Lee Ryan left earlier in the week following an argument with Marco Pierre White, while journalist Rosie Boycott was voted out by the public.
Brian Dowling remains favourite to win the show.
