Barry is hell in the kitchen, says wife

He's been slaving away at the stove, but it seems before his stint on Hell's Kitchen former boxer Barry McGuigan could barely boil an egg.

His wife Sandra reportedly told the Daily Mirror: "To say Barry couldn't cook before Hell's Kitchen is an understatement. I've never seen him do anything in the kitchen since we married. He's certainly never cooked for me."

She said his expertise extended to 'boiling water, in a kettle'.

"I tried giving him jobs in the kitchen. But he makes such a mountain out of a molehill I'm better off doing it myself," continued Sandra.

"If we have friends round for dinner I might trust him to sort out the wine. But that doesn't get done because he's too busy talking."

Sandra thinks the boxing champ has risen to the challenge on the TV show.
"He's an athlete, trained to be competitive. So Hell's Kitchen is perfect for him," she explained.

"Also there's no time for tittle tattle which Barry can't stand. They've got to knuckle down."
