National Movie Awards: Rupert Grint chats (VIDEO)

Rupert Grint, who plays Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter movies, was the surprise nominee for Best Male Performance at the first National Movie Awards in London on Friday.

The 19-year-old Hertfordshire actor said he had 'no chance at all' of defeating his Harry Potter co-star Daniel Radcliffe and 007 star Daniel Craig, but intended to enjoy the occasion all the same.

He told whatsontv.co.uk that the awards, voted for by the British public, 'mean more because.. they're the people who pay to watch the films'.

His co-star Daniel was later named as the winner, a decision applauded by almost everyone, including Helen Mirren.
