Soap cheats to get Christmas comeuppance?

Soap fans can look forward to a miserable - or merry, depending how you look at it - Christmas when love cheats in both EastEnders and Coronation Street get their just desserts.

EastEnders' Stacey Slater, played by Lacey Turner, and her secret lover Max Branning (Jake Wood) will apparently be shamed and then dumped by their spouses when their affair is revealed on Christmas Day.

Only last week, millions of BBC One viewers tuned in to see Stacey marry Max's son Bradley, but he is set to run off when he learns of his new wife's infidelity with his own dad.

And Max gets thrown out by his bitter wife Tracey, who then starts seeing Stacey's brother Sean.

A show source said: "Bradley is devastated. Tanya starts divorce proceedings to screw Max for every penny. Max and Stacey comfort each other - by jumping into bed. But the spark has gone."

While on ITV1's Coronation Street, teenager Rosie Webster's fling with teacher John Stape will be exposed, causing fury among the residents of Weatherfield, reports the Daily Mirror.

A Corrie insider revealed: "Rosie's dad Kevin is furious and gives John a few hard thumps, landing him in hospital. But Rosie is far from repentant."
