Auditions for Britain's Got Talent begin

A new bunch of hopefuls have started auditions for a chance to compete on Britain's Got Talent.

The hit reality TV show is set to return to our screens in the spring, and judges Simon Cowell, Amanda Holden and Piers Morgan have started scouring the country for the UK's best fire-eaters, singers, dancers, comedians - and a few more unusual acts.

Filming for the second series started over the weekend, as the show took to the road, taking the judging panel to Blackpool, Manchester, Birmingham, London, Cardiff and Glasgow.

Ant and Dec will be back at the helm when Britain's Got Talent returns to ITV1.

In June last year, former Carphone Warehouse manager Paul Potts wowed the judges and viewers alike with his opera singing. He won the chance to perform at Royal Variety Performance in front of The Queen and a record deal after the show.

Sadly, applications have now closed for Britain's Got Talent 2... but there's always 2009!
